When we received a call from the Spennymoor based Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust to transform the home of an inspirational woman from Newton Aycliffe, we were humbled to be given the opportunity and offered our services without hesitation.
Dee Donoghue is a 38 year old mother who recently battled Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. After a long battle including Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and a stem cell transplant we were delighted to hear that Dee is now in remission and completely defying the odds. We are now excited to document how we were able to play a part in giving Dee her dream kitchen.
For this project we teamed up with the Spennymoor based Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust, who we are always delighted to help. Dee had mentioned to the charity’s founder Mark Solan that her kitchen could do with a revamp. We heard about this and were more than happy to step in. The results turned out amazing and this new kitchen was just the treat that Dee deserved after such a difficult few years.
Mark Solan has become well known around the North East for his amazing work and his organisation were even nominated for a Pride of Britain Award back in 2017.
S Nicholson and Sons regularly work in partnership with the Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust, by transforming living spaces for people around County Durham who’ve lives have been affected by Cancer.
It really moves us to witness the difference that we can make by working on these projects. We have seen first-hand how much of a boost it can be for people when they receive a transformation such as this.
